I enjoy tutoring enough to do it for free, which I have done for my friends from time to time. I’m a friendly laid back person who loves to learn and help others learn, particularly in a one on one setting. A Little Bit About Me...

Over the years I have found math and reading/writing to be important skills and they were amongst the most useful tools I had ever learned. Over the years it has served we well and I enjoy teaching the material to younger people while explaining to them its benefits, but also allowing them to have a skill that will serve them well. I think it is more important to understand the student than to understand the material. Don't get me wrong - as a teacher I always re-educate myself to the material if need be - but I feel my real strength as an educator lies in finding a new way to teach the same concept. If a student is failing to learn, it is less often the material itself and more often the way it is being presented. Finding a new way is something I have practiced in school and at BOCES, and is my greatest strength as a teacher.

I began teaching as a college sophomore at MIT. For 9 years, I taught primarily Multivariable Calculus, but also single-variable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and several writing courses. Since graduating, I have been involved in various volunteer tutoring efforts. My minors are in Math, German, and Writing.
