My comments on tutoring Special Education : I have a Bachelors (BA) degree in Child Education with my Masters degree (MA) in Special Needs Education. For the past three years I have worked as an SEN teacher working with both Autistic and Epileptic people both in school and and as a private tutor / carer in their homes.

I have traveled the world with my husband for the past 8 years before moving to the USA. This is my eighth year of teaching. I have taught grades K-5 special education in the subjects of reading,writing and math. I currently teach a modified curriculum level one class in Immokalee. This is my second year of teaching in the state of Florida. Last year I taught in an Inclusion setting in the grades of K and 1. In the state of NC I uses the Wilson Reading Program to teach phonics. I prefer to work with K-2 children.
I use all modalities when I teach. I enjoy learning about my students likes and dislikes in order to make teaching appealing to them.

I have been working with kids of all ages for a long time. I love to see them learn and grow. That moment when they "get" something is magical! I spent the 2011-2012 school year teaching at a title 1 school in Collier County and have grown exponentially from it! I had several students in my class who needed special help, and half of my class were English language learners. These students have helped me to strengthen my skills and adapt to different student's styles.
I like to make teaching fun! If a student is bored they aren't going to be putting 100% into their work. I also use a positive reward system and celebrate all achievement. Even if it is minor.

As a Nurse Manager of an ICU, I was tapped to teach IV Therapy and heart rhythm monitoring classes.That developed into a FT position as a Nursing Inservice Coordinator,then later as a Director of a hospital wide education department,either teaching classes myself(such as in CPR)or coordinating others to teach.My years as a consultant I either taught seminars having to do with quaility improvement or worked with smaller groups and on-in-one in business/hospital facilities.
