I have been tutoring in various math, elementary, and Spanish areas for 13 years. I have tutored students from elementary school age to adults. I have also tutored students all over the US and in other coutries. I have listed all the areas that I am comfortable tutoring. I am willing to teach in a library, in the student's home, on-line, or in another area that is agreed upon by both myself and the parent. I am open to group sessions, this would require me booking a meeting room in a library, or another location. On-line is preferred if possible to reduce travel time(s), this would also allow me to assist more students in a more efficient way.
My teaching style varies by person, because not everyone learns the same way. I adapt my teaching style to the learning style of the person.

Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically interact with the materials, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as possible to aid their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts, I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. Hearing Impaired is one of my top subjects! I have been a classroom teacher of deaf and hearing impaired children and teens for eight years. I am able to use sign language to communicate. I can also use cued speech and oral methods.

Hearing Impaired is one of my top subjects! I've had lots of opportunities to learn about and train for interpreting for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.

I've graduated from two interpreting training programs from two different colleges in two different states. ASL is a great passion of mine, as is the subject of psychology.I interact with people from the deaf community daily. I just finished interning through the Knoxville Center of the Deaf.
