My comments on tutoring Speaking : I have been a member of a Toastmaster group for over 5 years, where I have mastered and polished many speeches both prepared and spur of the moment topics.

I have worked in several different types of industries from hotels, restaurants, travel, mortgage companies, transportation, banks, theater, real estate and other primarily service businesses. Most of my interests lie in the financial and accounting parts of these businesses because of the importance of not only being able to present an accurate picture of the company's condition at only one time, but also to make sure that there were no mistakes, thefts being covered up, or other discrepancies. Very large companies have had loans go bad due to the improper accounting of transactions by the business owners.
My teaching style needs to respond to the needs of the individual. There are several styles of learning so I need to understand the individual to best know how to teach them the skills they need to pass the course.

I believe that every student has the capacity to reach their goals. Each student works and learns at a different pace. Therefore, students should feel that it is okay to ask for additional help to understand a topic. My goal is to be a cheerleader and coach to my students. The road to understanding may be difficult at times. However, I will coach the student to keep going to the finish line and cheer the loudest when they reach it.
I have worked in the Accounting/Financial Services field in various roles, beginning in high school. I have worked for local government, financial institutions, and large corporations. In addition, I have earned a BS in Accounting. At the present, I am preparing for the CPA exam.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is Socratic in method. I have learned a large variety of techniques to help teach some of the most basic to the most advanced concepts to a large audience of students. I like to mold my teaching style to fit with each individual student. As a teacher of special-needs and emotionally handicapped children, I have learned techniques that make me a formidable teacher in any environment, so long as I am familiar with the material. A Little Bit About Me...

I have had experience teaching that is inquiry-based but have also taught in a more factual style with lecture. I believe that each student has a different style of learning, and I am more than willing to adapt to the child. It is crucial for students to understand all the fundamentals of education, so that higher levels (college) of education will be obtained. I always make sure the student understands the material every step of the way so that they will not fall behind. I also believe that the student must take what they learn and apply it.
