During my three years of formal tutoring, I was able to change my tutoring styles to fit the needs of the student. Everyone learns differently and it is important to realize and adjust my tutoring accordingly.
During the last three years of my undergraduate college career, I was a Mathematics tutor for student athletes. Although the courses covered while tutoring ranged from basic math to calculus, I am more comfotable tutoring algebra and geometry. I earned my BA with a double major in Mathematics and Russian in just four years. After college, I helped my sister and step-sister with their math and math-related physcis problems.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach people. However, I prefer to teach older students, such as high school and college kids, especially in math because they are often actually interested in the subject as apposed to completing their basic requirements. I am usually a very laid back teacher but can be very strict when the situation requires it.
As a mechanical engineer I have been doing applied calculus and physics since I started school. As an undergraduate I was a peer mentor to the freshman engineers. We taught the students to juggle both figuratively and literally. It was especially rewarding because I had been in their situation only a few years before. On my breaks from school I often tutored my best friends little brother in Algebra. I can honestly say that I taught him a semester worth of algebra (twice) in only a few days. I am going to be a senior in college studying Civil Engineering, and am currently taking some time off to gain work and travel experience. I just returned from a year long trip around Australia and New Zealand, and this only confirmed my love of travel and exploration. I started tutoring in High School, as part of our "Link Leader" program. After my junior year in High School, I spent 8 weeks living in Nicaragua with a host family. I became involved in many daily activities, including helping my host sisters with their homework in the evenings. I also worked to develop "Charlas", or presentations in the local schools on subjects like hygiene and health. I continued tutoring in College, mostly Uni-level students in Math.
