I am an Engineer by education and trade. I have a Physics degree and I have worked in production-cell support throughout my working career. My main responsibilities have been focused on training different people, with different skills and different approaches.
I am a very easy going and open minded educator. I believe everybody has a unique way of learning and that my role as an educator is to find the best approach to make the knowledge stick into a person's mind. I try to engage as many of our senses in any learning endeavor (sight, sound, smell, taste or touch). Being a meticulous student at Colorado State University, I excelled in academics. During my nine semesters, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Language, Literature, and Culture with a concentration in French, as well as Political Science. Helping others excel in these areas not only benefited the students but me as well, as it furthered my understanding of the material. As a student of languages, mainly French but also years of Spanish, I have become very educated in grammar especially, and have very much enjoyed proof-reading and editing research papers. I am a very patient and kind hearted person. I am able to relate to teenagers and can get through to children. I find that as long as I have the students respect, then progress can be made. I do not come in demanding their respect or attempting to force their respect. I come in a friendly manner and I will conduct the course in that same manner. I don't have a problem laughing and joking about, but when push comes to shove, the material will always be gotten through. I want them to understand what they are learning.
