As the oldest of seven children, I am very comfortable working with children and enjoy it very much. My favorite teacher was in third grade, and he made such an impression on me that fifteen years later I am still reminded of him and his unique teaching style. I am a very patient and kind hearted person. I am able to relate to teenagers and can get through to children. I find that as long as I have the students respect, then progress can be made. I do not come in demanding their respect or attempting to force their respect. I come in a friendly manner and I will conduct the course in that same manner. My goal is to excite students about learning. I encourage my own children as well as those I teach in the classroom to focus first on finding at least one concept in each lesson that attracts them and about which they would like to know more. This philosophy helps to eliminate the student's perception that "I hate math" or "I'm not good at science."
