I am an Engineer by education and trade. I have a Physics degree and I have worked in production-cell support throughout my working career. My main responsibilities have been focused on training different people, with different skills and different approaches.
I am a very easy going and open minded educator. I believe everybody has a unique way of learning and that my role as an educator is to find the best approach to make the knowledge stick into a person's mind. I have always had an affinity for math and history. As a result, I went to Colorado State University to major in history, but I took a few math classes as well. I know how to do math up to Calculus 1. Last summer I tutored a girl going into the fourth grade. She came out of third grade not understanding any of the math taught, because the teacher believe that people should feel good, not actually learn the material. When she started fourth grade, she was at the forefront of her class in mathematical understanding.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher’s assistant for photography in high school, I realized that I had a natural aptitude for teaching and breaking subjects down into manageable parts. In college, I was the person that other students came to for guidance with difficult topics, from mathematical equations to evolutionary theory. Since I earned my BS in wildlife biology, I have taught in many capacities, including as a substitute teacher and as a trainer for new employees. I have taught discouraged children to read and fostered latent talents. As a tutor for the Interfaith Refugee Ministry, I worked with children and adults from all over the world, including a woman from Zimbabwe who was studying to earn her GED, but struggled just to create a complete sentence in English.
