I have a BS in Wildlife Biology, with honors, which gives me an excellent background in math and science. I have worked as a wildlife field technician over the last four years including a position with the Northern Divide Grizzly Bear Project. I have volunteered for the Watershed Education Network, a non-profit organization that educates young students about the importance of water quality and introduces them to stream monitoring science. In the spring of 2010, I volunteered for the Missoula International School (MIS) as a middle school math tutor. I worked with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, helping them with their daily math exercises and providing chaperone support for various field trips.

I believe in a multifaceted approach to the different types of learners, aural, visual, kinesthetic, and reading/writing and aim to incorporate all learning styles in my teaching. I watched my brother struggle through school and learning disabilities all his life, so I tutored him through math and English since 7th grade. I found if you connect with a student and create ways that speak to him, you can foster learning. I helped my brother write flow charts on full-length mirrors to chart plotlines from books. After earning a bachelor degree in Mathematics/Statistics I entered graduate school with the intention of going into the Computer Science field.
