I'm a math minor at the University of Montana, and I've been tutoring at the Math Learning Center there since I was a freshman. I have experience tutoring with all of the classes listed, and I learned a lot of them from different institutions so I can help give a new way of thinking about the subject.
I try to teach conversationally and help students get comfortable with the process of doing the problems over just giving the answers. I tend to go with asking questions as a default--I've found it really helps learning, especially with classes like math that are more about understanding the process than regurgitating answers--but during those times we all have when you have no idea where to start, I'm happy to explain it out! After earning a bachelor degree in Mathematics/Statistics I entered graduate school with the intention of going into the Computer Science field. Teaching undergraduates, as a teaching assistant, I uncovered my desire to help and teach. In an effort to find a better path I'm now enrolled as a first year professional student in a Pharmacy program. I have an extensive educational background in math and sciences to draw upon.
As a computer science teaching assistant I was often presenting students with their first experience in a new field, as a result, I have adapted a teaching style which draws upon my background in the sciences to offer real life examples and helpful tidbits to further a students understanding. I am patient and equipped to adapt to student's differing needs. I enjoy working with students of all ages and truly wish to help students learn and enjoy their educations.

I have 6 months of experience in outdoor education teaching various science classes and other outdoor, leadership and art classes/skills. I also tutored college undergrads in calculus and botany for a year in college.
