Creating Independent Learners

My experience dates back to when I was in high school in the early 80's tutoring students and family members. I've also taught classes on Management of Aggressive Behavior / Appled Non-Violence to mental health professionals throughout the Las Vegas Valley and surrounding communities. A Little Bit About Me...

From having been in the education field for over 10 years, I have come to learn that my teaching style is very much dependent on the learning style of the individual. Introducing young children to language requires a very different set of skills and expectations that teaching freshmen composition at the college level. I think the most important aspect of a teaching style is the ability to judge and modify instruction so that it is suited for the learner, and I always intend to teach the student, rather than just teach the material.
