My comments on tutoring Literature : Along with studying American and foreign literature for years, I have tutored students in the intricacies of literature. Most of the best novels ever written have been written by people we have never heard of because they were marginalized by society because they were born in the wrong place at the wrong time. Many worshiped the "wrong" God or had the "wrong" skin color or chose to love the "wrong" gender or were of the "wrong" social status or class. Such authors who wrote amazing novels and plays but who were ostracized during their lifetimes and still became famous were Oscar Wilde and Tennessee Williams, Walt Whitman, T.S.Eliot, Truman Capote, and Virginia Woolf, but the vast majority of timeless literature was written by perfectly "normal" people. If I am granted the privilege to tutor you in Literature, we will not only read the material, but dissect it, examine each line closely to try to get into the mind of the author, and attempt to write some material as close as we can to that author's style and composition.

I consider myself to be a uniquely seasoned, qualified, and experienced tutor who can adapt to any situation and to any student in order to benefit their education and learning experience. Given that I was born in Lebanon, with French influence over the country's educational institution, I grew up learning both French and Arabic at school until I reached college and began broadening my English language skills. I have given many private lessons while at college in French as well as in Math. I have recently tutored my cousin's daughter in numerous school subjects as well. I love languages and I am in the process of learning Russian and possibly later on Chinese. I believe that each child learns in his or her own way and you, as a teacher, must provide opportunities for all students to learn. I believe teachers must be flexible and willing to change plans to accomodate the needs and interests of the class. I believe that children need to be given a good foundation especially in reading. Reading is the most important skill because without reading students will have difficulty in all other subjects.
I have been teaching for 15 years. If children are taught to read the right way they will not have problems later on. Difficulties should be caught early in order to help students overcome them. I have been tutoring for two years.
