Painting is one of my top subjects! In addition to my hands on experience copying the art work of the major artists of past and present, I was recently a docent at the Leepa-Rattner Museum located in Tarpon Springs for a period of 18 months.

I have acted as substitute teacher at the middle and high school levels for a total of 10 years, 8 of which were spent at 12 schools in Vermont and 2 at 10 schools in Hernando County FL. My comments on tutoring Painting : I know the basics well, but not some of the advanced techniques. I work with Acrylic Paints on canvas.

Hands on and detailed lecture. I talk fast, but I teach you to work fast as well. The hardest part of my lesson will be knowing when to put it down and call something finished. I love to laugh, be loud and have a great time. It's a joy to teach and I make sure it's a joy to learn as well.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Art Institute in 2004 with top honors and a nomination for Best Demo Reel. I taught for a semester in 2004 at the Institute and went on to teach privately the the next two years (tutor). I became a photoshop trainer at work and an Art Director of a million dollar graphic design firm by 2007. I have flown to Cape Town in South Africa and Canberra in Australia to teach crash course photoshop seminars- up to 8 people with no computer experience at all. I have lead a team of 15 in photo editing for a professional studio and still teach privately today.

I initially try to find what he/she is struggling with, and what strengths and weaknesses are present. I allow the person to ask questions in a fluid, spontaneous, "let's see as we tackle this together" manner. When something is not understood, I try to give analogies, examples that the person can relate to. I also may explain the subject matter in a more simplified, methodical fashion. I believe learning can be made appealing, if you find out how the person operates. Learning is the key to just about everything, so I take seriously the importance of assisting someone in the tutoring field.
In my college curriculum and internships, I experienced and observed a great deal about people and various styles of processing information. That is, every person has a rather unique way of learning. I would think the most important point to tap into, when tutoring someone, would be to disc ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching young and pre-teen children. They are so eager to learn. I have grandchildren which I have helped. I tend to lean more to art now, however I still like to sit down & help with math, reading, english and other courses. When there are no distractions, I can get one on one with a child and help them to learn better. Getting to know a child's willingness to learn and where he needs help sets the pace as to where to go from there.
At Keystone College in (LaPlume, PA) I took 3 years of Accounting,Legal Math which involved learning descriptions of court & legal proceedings,Business math, which was all about owning a business. Marketing, psychology, discussing right & left side of brains, Freud, Physical gym, learning all about the human body, and also English I & II which included reading, discussing what the author meant to tell, essays & proper grammer. During the completion of my Bachelor's degree in Psychology I had the opportunity to work with the Maricopa College District, as well as the No Child Left Behind Program. While working with the Maricopa College District I assisted students that were enrolled in the ACE Adult Program. These students ranged in ages from 18 to 65 years old. Additionally, I worked with Martin Porres Educational Services and the No Child Left Behind Program. During my years of tutoring I have assisted students in Psychology, Statistics, math courses up to Calculus, basic science classes, reading, English, computer courses, and nursing courses (relating to mathematics).
Not only do I love to teach and help students learn, I also enjoy helping students develop an appreciation for learning in general. The most gratifying experience while teaching is the look on a student's face, after hours of confusion, a ... read more

Although I have a well-rounded education, most of my knowledge and work experience is in mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus plus the related fields of accounting, computers, and engineering). My college education at Purdue University was interrupted due to financial reasons, but I returned to Lake-Sumter Community College at night while working full time and earned an AA degree. I know how important education is! I believe I am a natural teacher when it comes to mathematics and related fields - I helped my fellow students in high school during study halls, tutored through the National Honor Society, was my son’s private tutor, and assist my co-workers with their accounting and computer skills.
I am fascinated with the concept that the more senses you utilize in teaching the better the child learns and retains what was taught. Some children respond to v ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working as a private tutor from my home or student's home for 3 years. I have tutored elementary through college level students. I am able to teach a variety of subjects, however my forte is English and Composition. I have the honor of being a published author. I am an expert in MLA or APA style writing. I have also tutored in College Algebra, elementary math, Biology, and Reading. I speak conversational French, and am able to teach up to the secondary level.
It is my belief that everyone is able to learn, and what produces that ability is having support. So many instructors give up on those not favored as "prized" students, and in turn, these students just slide through. I know it takes time and effort to get some students enthused about education, and I make it my goal to help them with this.

Everyone has always told me that I was born to be a teacher, that I have an innate gift to decipher what a student needs and to promote success and accomplish goals.
