To work in the field of marine biology was my goal when in college. I traveled to Paris and enrolled at the Sorbonne University in order to prepare myself and had the intention of applying to work with Yves Jacques Cousteau. However, my studies were curtailed due to the Sorbonne's staff and students going on strike for over 4 months. I have qualified twice in SCUBA.

Proficiency: Expert, and one of my top Subjects!
Qualified in this subject in this subject by WyzAnt. I taught English to Speakers of Other Languages as Senior Instructor with Inlingua (Vienna, Austria) for a period of two years and instituted an out source program for this company whereby I visited the offices of professionals such as lawyers, doctors and bankers and factories manned by blue collar workers to assist in their achieving greater fluency in English. I acted as a volunteer ESOL instructor at the Tarpon Springs campus of St. Petersburg College in 2011. While in the US Air Force I gave ESOL instruction to Korean Air Force Officers. I have also volunteered as an ESOL instructor with H.E.A.R.T. and R.S.V.P. in Hernando County, FL in recent years and have also offered private in home ESOL lessons while living in Vermont. I also worked for 6 months with the Department of Immigration in VT assisting applicants for US citizenship and incorporated English instruction in my course.

As a member of the World Languages Department at a Vermont high school, I filled in as German instructor on numerous occasions.

For a six month period I worked in tandem with a highly proficient Latin instructor who had 14 students achieve Magna Cum Laude in Latin one year. As my language choice in high school, my studies in Latin have assisted in my achieving superior skills in English usage and expression and facilitated my learning French and Spanish. On my first visit to Italy, I found that I was able to comprehend a good part of Italian conversation.

As a high school student many years ago I elected to follow a typing course which proved to be of unexpectedly great value throughout many of my professional associations. In these modern times expert typing has become essential due to technological advances. I feel quite qualified to offer instruction so as to provide students with this extremely important mode of communication. I type accurately at a quite satisfactory rate.
Writing Skills
Superior writing skills are required in all phases of one's personal and professional life and I have consistently given special emphasis to the necessity of expressing one's self to the very best of one's ability. As Editor-in-Chief of two publications - one dealing with cultural subjects - the other with emergency communications - I wrote original articles and edited those submitted by others in the same field.
Drawing
For the greater part of my life I have been deeply interested in art in all it's phases and have had a mumber of original works published as full page covers for the arts section of "Seven Days" - a weekly newspaper published in Burlington VT. I have participated in Open Studios frequently in both Vermont and Florida.
Painting

In addition to my hands on experience copying the art work of the major artists of past and present, I was recently a docent at the Leepa-Rattner Museum located in Tarpon Springs for a period of 18 months.
Speaking

I have had many years of voice work experience including emcee work as host for numerous international events, voice overs for aviation oriented training films and as an ESOL instructor. My American English accent is considered the standard for actors, TV and radio personalities and my voice quality is such that I have received offers to narrate books on tape and to participate in other projects. While in the military I worked as an announcer for Air Force Radio. As a Senior ESOL instructor with a highly reputed language school (Inlingua) located in Vienna, Austria, I was frequently told by my students that I was the first instructor (of 22) whose every word was clearly understood. I have also participated in amateur theater on a number of occasions.
