I've taken several courses in Shakespeare, but since graduating college the only thing my anthology has been good for is standing on to reach things on high shelves. I'd love to put it to good use again! Because English and literature is subjective, I use a nondirective approach to ensure that the student is exercising their creative problem solving skills and critical thinking skills. Basically, I ask them about their interpretation of the text or their own writing.
