Children are being taught different ways to do basic math. Adults were taught adding the ones place, tens place, then hundreds place to come up with the right answer. Children are taught number bonds to come with the answer. It takes children an extremely long time to solve basic math problems because the children have to do multiple, unnecessary, and often confusing steps. I prefer to teach children the old-fashioned way of doing math as I believe this way is still best. I have taught Early Childhood Education since 2000 to 2002 at Angel Academy Preschool.
