I have been involved with the deaf community and teaching sign language for numerous years. I grew up in a family that used sign language to communicate. I began teaching in pre-school and have been teaching at the college level for 5 years. I also freelance interpret and am involved in numerous deaf clubs and advocacy groups. My understanding of deaf culture and the language enables me to more effectively communicate and teach so that the hearing community can understand and respect the deaf world. I'm good at helping people to learn sign language but just let you know that I learned English Sign Language but right now I'm ;earning ASL in college, ASL is my minor.
