A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from USC with a degree in Business and have spent six years as an actuary working in a professional and math-oriented field for major firms (Blue Shield and Mercer). I have a strong background in math dating back to high school where I scored an 800 on the SAT math section as a junior. I also bring experience working with youth. I tutored math to junior high, high school and college students off and on during past decade. I worked three summers as summer camp counselor, spent one summer as a behavioral coach for autistic children and taught math one summer at private academy.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working with children from K-12 grade since 2001. I was part of the Math Academy in 2002. I have been subsituting in grades K-8 since 2009. I am fluent in the Spanish and I have experience working with migrant as well as with English Learner students. I worked with EL students for 3 years. I have also had the chance to work with special needs children.
I enjoy working with children. My theory of teaching is using the multiple intelligence theory. I believe that all children have the capacity to learn but in their own way. I like to incoporate different styles of learning in a lesson. I also like to incorporate hands on activities, because I believe that doing is learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

My name is Qiqi Peng. I am a current graduate of University of California, Berkeley and a past graduate of Modesto Junior College. I just earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in May 2009 at UC Berkeley. I also had an Associate of Art degree in Chemistry and Behavioral & Social Science in Aug 2007 at Modesto Junior College. From Feb 2006 to Aug 2007, I worked at the tutoring center of Modesto Junior College as a math/chemistry tutor.
I enjoy tutoring. It allows me to pass on my knowledge, to exercise my communication skills, and to help my fellow college students. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught music in public education for the last 15 years. I have been involved in church music ministry for over 25 years, and currently am the church pianist in Stockton, Ca. I love working with children of all ages. Math is my second love and I almost majored in math instead of music. Math was always easy for me in school. Although I don't enjoy writing, I am very strong in written English and enjoy proofreading papers.
I strive to include various learning styles when working with children. Some students learn best by listening or writing, while others need movement or tactile experiences to help in comprehension. I believe in keeping students engaged at all times, to minimize wasted time. Every child has potential. A teacher just has to know how to reach each child, and that happens when the students builds trust with the teacher.
