Reading and writing are, and have always been, enjoyable for me. However, I know that a lot of people do not feel the same way. My goal is to show students that if he or she can get past the miring details that oftentimes come with English, it can be pretty dang interesting. Since revealing the fun parts of English is my goal, I am not super strict nor do I expect students to master the subject material right away. Working on the learning level of students, my aim is to guide them as they themselves discover new subject material. I am a junior English major and Religious Studies minor at Rhodes College. I have been tutoring professional for six years and teaching for five. I am certified by the state of Tennessee to teach secondary math. I have worked with all levels of students, from remedial to gifted. I have worked from age 7 through adult learners and had a positive impact at each age and level. I believe that happy people not only learn faster, but they also retain more. Far too much of our kids' lives are spent cooped up indoors. Therefore, I like to take an open-door approach to learning and like to schedule as many sessions as possible out of the house/library/etc. Each session is guaranteed to be filled with fun learning experiences that the pupil will be sure to remember.
