I am a junior English major and Religious Studies minor at Rhodes College. I graduated from Harding Academy ('09), a school well known for its strong English department. The past two summers I have worked at Harding's summer camp as a counselor for first and second graders, so patience is definitely a trait that I have come to learn and appreciate. Being an English major, I am strong in areas concerning reading, writing, and grammar. Also, I play football for Rhodes College, and I try to display the work ethic I have learned on the field in all that I do. Reading and writing are, and have always been, enjoyable for me. However, I know that a lot of people do not feel the same way. I have worked with all levels of students, from remedial to gifted. I have worked from age 7 through adult learners and had a positive impact at each age and level. I’ve had many years of practice in the tutoring field dealing with the fact that my brother has a learning disability. He likes to have fun and thinks that leaning is boring, so I try to make learning as fun as possible. Then I have my student on student tutoring when the students tutor each other. I think its better that way because most students don't really pay attention to their teachers but they take it better when it comes from another student.
