Experience Summary
Currently a junior at the University of Memphis, I am seeking a Bachelor's degree in English. I love to write, and have always been the dictionary for people, so my concentration is in Creative Writing. I have very high marks in all my English classes, (transcripts for which available upon request) and am currently 12,000 words into my first book. I have tutored children of many ages in the past, many of whom suffered with audio/visual difficulties such as dyslexia and other reading/comprehension difficulties. Each child who applied their tutoring lessons to their in-school learning excelled in their school work/grades.
Teaching Style
I believe that happy people not only learn faster, but they also retain more. Far too much of our kids' lives are spent cooped up indoors. Therefore, I like to take an open-door approach to learning and like to schedule as many sessions as possible out of the house/library/etc. Each session is guaranteed to be filled with fun learning experiences that the pupil will be sure to remember. A session with a child that needs reading/spelling/comprehension, for instance, could very well be done at the zoo. I want my kids to learn, and have fun doing it! Our planet has so much to offer in the ways of educating our children! I never have to look far to find a teaching/learning opportunity!

I enjoy most anything that is outside!
