Experience Summary
I am a junior English major and Religious Studies minor at Rhodes College. I graduated from Harding Academy ('09), a school well known for its strong English department. The past two summers I have worked at Harding's summer camp as a counselor for first and second graders, so patience is definitely a trait that I have come to learn and appreciate. Being an English major, I am strong in areas concerning reading, writing, and grammar. Also, I play football for Rhodes College, and I try to display the work ethic I have learned on the field in all that I do.
Teaching Style
Reading and writing are, and have always been, enjoyable for me. However, I know that a lot of people do not feel the same way. My goal is to show students that if he or she can get past the miring details that oftentimes come with English, it can be pretty dang interesting. Since revealing the fun parts of English is my goal, I am not super strict nor do I expect students to master the subject material right away. Working on the learning level of students, my aim is to guide them as they themselves discover new subject material.
