I have tutored on and off for the past 12 years. I have tutored people from 5th grade to age 50. I have much experience tutoring any type of math up to Algebra II. I have also tutored in Spanish on numerous occasions. I have lived in Mexico and Costa Rica which has really made my Spanish skills solid. I prefer one on one or a small group no larger than five. There is no better moment that when a child becomes engaged and starts understanding and asking questions. Once a child starts asking questions you know that they are excited about it and want to learn. When teaching my goal is always to get children excited about what they are doing and then proceed from there. All children have different strengths and I try to work from those strengths. I have formally tutored with Madison College on two occasions lasting a year. I was also Tutoring throughout my time at Edgewood on a drop in basis with any students that came to the math department and could not reach a professor. I have a BS in Mathematics and doing math at all levels is fun for me. I enjoy helping students work through tough problems by allowing them to make mistakes and then rework the problem a couple of times the correct way.
