Experience Summary
I am currently in school for my Masters in Teaching. At the completion of my program, I will be certified to teach grades one through eight. I have spent the last six months working with Kindergarten, First grade, and Third grade students in my field placement.
Prior to starting school, I had three years of training experience in the political field. That was done in large groups ranging from 20 to 100 participants. I also worked one-on-one with candidates on their written campaign plans.
I am excited to work with students on reading, writing and composition, study skills, organization, and would particularly like to work with Middle School age children.
Teaching Style
In my Masters in Teaching program we are learning about differentiation and working to find the best vehicle by which to present information to students. For example, if a student has a talent and passion for music, perhaps setting some of their social studies and science materials to song will help them better absorb the information.
Also, the best way to create connections in students minds is to have them learn and then create something representing their learning. Perhaps they learn about an era of history and then they act out a scene that may have happened, or they visually represent a science concept.
I also am a very organized person with good study habits that I can model for your student and help them put into practice.
