A Little Bit About Me...

While working with an adult native Spanish speaker to improve her English was certainly rewarding, my desire has always been to work with children or adolescents, as I feel that they are more amenable to an educational program and have a greater learning capacity when given the proper opportunities. My teaching style is one of constant progression, in which the student's strengths and weaknesses are weighed and an appropriate lesson plan formed based on his/her abilities. This lesson plan can be subject to change based upon rapid progression or extended difficulties in a subject, and I also take into account each student’s distinct learning style. I have a passion for education and helping others. I also love math and problem solving. I have earned my BS in Business with a major in MIS, and have completed many extra math classes. I tutored all through college when I went (at the high school and college level). I have enjoyed teaching my daughter and others her age (elementary level), and have learned a lot about learning styles. I have earned my B.S. in Business Administration, studying many different courses. During my undergrad years, I was able to tutor graduate and undergraduate in their areas of weakness. These subjects included Financial Accounting, Micro and Macroeconomics, Literature, and many more. I have been able to teach them but also learn from them. Being a good tutor means being able to understand the ways the student learns. I am passionate about helping others and I will continue to be while pursuing my own dreams.
