I have always loved learning. Reading and writing have been two of my primary hobbies since childhood. Still, when I was in elementary and high school, there were times when I felt that the educational system was lacking. My experience in paid teaching (excluding numerous volunteer and non-paid opportunities) range from teaching Vietnamese refugee "boat-people" children (news film footage archived by Vanderbilt University) in 1975 through years of Orange County (CA) adult education in English as a Second Language to my present duties in metro Denver of teaching immigrant adults in English as a Second Language. Along the way, I also experienced fulltime day teaching of a kindergarten class in Fresno and a combined 7th-8th grade moderate-to-severe special education class in Inglewood, California.
