I have a Bachelors in Applied Arts and Sciences from Texas State University and worked as an interpreter for a Regional Day School Program for the Deaf in Texas for 14 years and much of that time was in the elementary school setting. My job description as an interpreter included being a teacher's aid and a tutor. I interpreted all subjects and so I am very familiar working with students at this age. Because I was in the general educational classrooms I not only tutored the Deaf students, I also tutored the hearing students who needed help. I use more of a visual approach to teaching. In 2006, I earned my bachelors degree in Elementary Education K- 8th grades. My cognate was concentrated in the Socials Studies areas. I have a great love of history and always traveling to learn more about interesting parts of the country. After graduation, I taught Commercial Science grades 6th thru 8th in a middle school. I have taught computers for the past two years in the same school. I have also substituted in all grades and all subjects. I feel that all students learn differently and for that my teaching styles vary. I am a visual person so; I that all children can learn when shown examples of what I am trying to teach them.
