When I was in high school I had a lot of anxiety about math. I went back to college late in life and I was terrified that I would have to take a few math courses to graduate. It wasn't long before math was my favorite class and I changed my major. When I was in school I helped a lot of my classmates with calculus. After I graduated I got a job as a tutor working with high school students on preparation for college entrance exams and mathematics. I found that to be very rewarding.

My teaching style is trying to relate to each person and make everything easier for them. Dealing with A.D.D my entire life, I've learned how to break apart the entire problem(or essay) into better and more clear parts. A good educator needs to demand accountability from it's students. A Little Bit About Me...

I am new to tutoring, but not to teaching. In college, whether I was studying differential equations or the intricacies of cellular processes, I took the time to support my classmates and explain difficult concepts. When I was called to service, I spent four years in the Air Force, lecturing, mentoring, and teaching my fellow servicemembers, breaking down highly technical information and helping them succeed. I am an active teacher. I want students to understand the subject in the context of their own lives as opposed to just learning definitions. If they can realate the information to an actual happening, they are more likely to remember. In terms of test preparation, aside from learning the information it is important to work on test-taking skills (relaxation, focus, etc.).
