I enjoy helping junior high and high school students excel in all their subjects. Particularly, I feel it's important to relate their current studies to real life situations to help them understand the link between the theoretical material and practical solutions. I have tutored math and science for high school children at the West Midland Family Center for two years and am currently tutoring all five of my children in all subjects.

I love teaching because I love passing on knowledge. I believe anyone can learn anything they want, it just takes us all different lengths of time and effort to achieve our educational goals. As a tutor and a TA I was always trying to rethink my presentation of the material when the students seemed confused. We all think about math in slightly different ways, so I was always trying to adapt my explanations to their style of thinking. I am patient, easy-going, friendly, and reliable. Also, if I don't know something, I will not make something up; I will go find out and report back to the student what I have learned.

I am a Michigan State University graduate with a degree in Kinesiology and Specialization in Health Promotions. I have experience with volunteer tutoring elementary school children through my sorority Gamma Phi Beta. I prefer tutoring in Math, Science, and Spelling as those are my specialties.
I am very passionate about working with children. I believe that all children have something to offer, and can achieve success if they put their mind to it. There are all types of teaching styles, but I think that hands on learning, and interacting is the best way to understand the material.
