A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and working with all children. I grew up as a teacher's son and now I am a teacher's husband so I have experience exploring different methods to help children learn. I believe I can pass on my education and experience to students and give them real world applications of the material they are studying. I also like have fun so my students should expect to have fun as well.
After graduating with a mathematics undergraduate degree in 1998, I have continued to study all areas of mathematics for the last 12 years. I have passed numerous actuarial exams that cover advanced mathematic topics as well as becoming a charterholder in the CFA Institute in 2009. I would love the opportunity to pass on my enjoyment of mathematics to others. I tutored extensively during my college years and feel I have a lot to offer the students of today.

A Little Bit About Me...

As an educator, I have had many opportunities to work with various different students. I have earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education and a master's degree in teaching with an emphasis in learning disabilities. I have taught secondary special education for 5 years, focusing on math, reading, and writing. I have also privately tutored students of all ages and abilities in math, reading, and writing. I have excellent success in helping students improve their skills, often beyond what is generally expected of them.
It is difficult for me to say which age of student I love working with because each student I have worked with from age 6 - 25 has been very rewarding. I have a very flexible teaching style. The way one person learns will be different from another, therefore, the way you teach one person should be different from another. I am very patient, and will work at the pace of my student. Especially in mathematics, it does no good to move forward for the sake of keeping up. I am also very creative, and work to find new ways of helping my student master the material when they don't understand, instead of simply repeating what I've said. I ask a lot of questions to get to know my student better.
