I have a versatile background that began with two business degrees and progressed to a professional career in purchasing and sales. I discovered along the way that my true passion was teaching and I can be more effective in a tutoring one-on-one situation than a classroom setting. I love educating children and adults and strongly believe in lifelong learning. Since I have taught at several levels and even in different countries, I use different teaching techniques. My goal is to help the learner to get the best education possible.
I have taught for 20+ years in Germany (mainly Math, English and Reading) and for 4 years in Kansas City, MO. There I taught all core subjects: Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. I like to make my classes fun and game like. I use different methods for remembering such as how to apply photographic memory as well as music and lyrics. I also like the use or repetition in order to memorize. I like to give weekly tests on the subjects studied and implementing the reward system. You do well on the test, you get a reward.
