Hello, I have a bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida. I have taught in three schools around the county, differing in academic and socio-economic levels. Put the student at ease since stress does not equate.

Bachelor in Electrical Engineering - Cambridge University, England. MSEE - McGill University, Montreal, Canada. I have tutored students for the past 35 years from Grades 5 to 8 in math subjects. I have found that Algebra is a subject that most students have difficulty with and I have specialized in Algebra. I ONLY tutor in math, unlike others that tutor in any subject. I CAN help you. Don't be put off by my low rate. I am retired and enjoy tutoring.
Most student difficulties come from a lack in understanding the basics in math. I try to find a starting point to build from there. Because of Covid-19 I now tutor ONLY on-line. Computer and other skills available, what I know I share.

I go with the styles that fit the student. I generally use the first couple of visits to assess what works best for the student and then work with the student in a calm and patient yet firm manner. I do not try to force results, every student learns differently and has different aptitudes. Therefore, it wiser not to push the student too hard for results, rather I push myself to find new and inventive ways to help students learn the material.

Every student can learn.

I have some experience in tutoring in general. I have tutored fellow students who played the flute, I have also tutored fellow students on reading and spelling. I have a brother with a learning disability so I spent my entire adolescence helping him with his school assignments and helping him with his reading disability.
I work with the students making them feel comfortable, never making the feel overwhelmed but enough work that they are working on the assignments that I give them. There is never any passing or failing, there is only learning. I welcome questions, I actually prefer a student to ask me 800 questions then not understand a topic that we will be covering.
