A Little Bit About Me...

I worked for a college level school in Mexico(Conalep)for 5 years,use to teach Math,Biology, Pnewmatic, Hydraulic, and in the past years I work in diferent levels of comunity teaching conferences for my hispanic neighbords. My experience in working in laboratories give me skills and knowledges to prepaid the student in a real work environment and apply the science to a high expectations.
My style is liberal , with tutory in one to one, my experience in retail stores make my style in a easy going. I born to be a teacher, my Mother was a teacher in elementary level. At soon I grow and have my basic skill, I start to teaching in diferents level in Mexico, I participe in a program to help the adults to finish high scool, and start to be prepaired for the college, when I start the University, I help a lot of under graduated high school students to be prepaid for the College

I graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in Secondary Education and a BS in Business Administration. My education major is in spanish but I am also certified to teach Mathematics. The majority of my teaching experience is in Mathematics. I am currently an 8th grade Pre-Algebra teacher and also work teaching Algebra at Pima Community College. I have tutored students in spanish and math for over 10 years.
I enjoy teaching Mathematics and helping students realize their true potential. I am not a 'mathematician' , I am a teacher who understands math, so my teaching style is very student centered. My focus is to simplify math concepts to the level of each student for better understanding. Mathematics can be very intimidating to students so my goal as a teacher is to help students gain confidence in their skills and have a positive learning experience.

Some people learn visually, some people learn by practicing, some people don't want to learn. My style varies according to the individual and what he or she likes or dislikes. My tutoring began in when I was employed with Nazareth Colleges' Partners for Learning program. This program worked with several schools in the Rochester, NY area to provide in school and after school tutoring and teaching assistance to children grades 6-12. I specialized at one school, Hope Hall in Gates, NY, where I worked with students who had a variety of learning challenges. I assisted students with subjects such as: English, Spanish, French, math, language arts, science and social studies. I worked with Partners for Learning for two years from 2005-2006 while I was finishing my undergraduate degree. I have also been employed as a substitute teacher in my hometown of Rochester, NY.
