Accounting is one of my top subjects! Accounting and finance are inter-related disciplines focused on auditing, preparing, monitoring and reconciling accounts to make sure the financial statements accurately reflect the true condition of the company at the time. It is very important to follow high ethical and integrity standards, to give management the ability to accurately respond to the needs of the company.

My teaching style needs to respond to the needs of the individual. There are several styles of learning so I need to understand the individual to best know how to teach them the skills they need to pass the course.
I have worked in several different types of industries from hotels, restaurants, travel, mortgage companies, transportation, banks, theater, real estate and other primarily service businesses. Most of my interests lie in the financial and accounting parts of these businesses because of the importance of not only being able to present an accurate picture of the company's condition at only one time, but also to make sure that there were no mistakes, thefts being covered up, or other discrepancies. Very large companies have had loans go bad due to the improper accounting of transactions by the business owners.

I am patient. I go over problems several times to be sure you know them. I do not move on to the next skill until you have mastered the current skill. I can give you extra worksheets to keep practicing your skills. We can do online training or meet at a public place (bookstore etc) for the lessons.

I practiced law for over 25 years and since 2010 have taught at Pima Community College. In teaching, I utilize a combination of law, accounting and economics to teach the courses and make the concepts taught come alive by offering real world examples of the application of each of these subjects. My teaching style first begins with getting to know and understand where the student stands in the specified subject, his or her needs of the subject, and then determining his or her strengths and weaknesses. Lastly, I like to emphasize how and when the aforementioned subject will be of value during the students career and/or lifetime. With my tutoring her to look at math differently, she improved her grades to an A. Even the teacher was quite surprised at the quick turnaround.
