My comments on tutoring English ESOL : Two years experience as Senior ESOL instructor with Inlingua (Vienna, Austria). As a substitute instructor for 22 other staff, I was frequently told that I was the first instructor whose every word was understood. As stated elsewhere, I have offered ESOL in many other areas including Tarpon Springs Campus of St. Petersburg College, with Korean Air Force Officers and as a volunteer with H.E.A.R.T. and R.S.V.P.

For the greater part of my life I have been involved in various facets of education. I have acted as substitute teacher at the middle and high school levels for a total of 10 years, 8 of which were spent at 12 schools in Vermont and 2 at 10 schools in Hernando County FL. English ESOL is one of my top subjects! I have taught ESOL at school for nearly 30 years and worked as a tutor with all ages of students from Elementary and Middle School grade levels all the way up to college students and adults.

I tutored kids who were lagging behind the rest of the class at school as well as advanced language learners and helped them get ready for regional language contests. One of my achievements I believe is my excellent work with high school seniors to prepare for centralized testing. But the experience I value most is when my students who were performing about average gradually integrated into the rest of the class.
