I have a communicative and interactive approach to teaching. I believe that a child learns best when actively involved in the process of learning and discovery. I am also a very patient person and feel that a nurturing, calm and positive environment is the key to success in learning. I strive to expose my students to new ideas by sharing my travels and experiences with them. I challenge them to ask questions and follow their curiosity in the classroom and outside of it.
I started teaching while in college; I worked as a Teaching Assistant when school was in session (teaching college students) and as a camp counselor at a French immersion camp in the summers. I love to teach and make a difference in students' lives, so in my teaching I realize that each student is different and has different learning needs or styles. As a result of this teaching philosophy, I am eclectic in my approach and in the selection of materials. As the teacher I must find the materials that will best fit the learning needs of my students.
