A Little Bit About Me...

I have a communicative and interactive approach to teaching. I believe that a child learns best when actively involved in the process of learning and discovery. I am also a very patient person and feel that a nurturing, calm and positive environment is the key to success in learning. I strive to expose my students to new ideas by sharing my travels and experiences with them. I challenge them to ask questions and follow their curiosity in the classroom and outside of it.

My tutoring began while I was studying at Montana State University. My Junior year I enrolled in a class that was based around community service and my role was tutoring middle school aged children. The tutoring was in a small group setting and was on any subject the children needed help in but mainly in reading comprehension. After college, I attended Via Lingua where I became certified to teach ESL. It was here that my tutor experience expanded. For 4 months, I not only taught night classes but tutored on a one-one basis with students who needed further assistance.
