I have been teaching special education for over 6 years. I've taught low functioning students with Learning disabilities, autism, MR, etc... Some kids learn at a different pace and some progress, while it may not be much, opens the door to confidence and hope. My teaching style utilizes any and all manipulatives necessary to engage a student. I also review student data to determine what learning gaps exist. I have eighteen years of experience: ten at the missle school level, and eight at the high school level. My experience includes teaching "at-risk" students from a wide variety of backgrounds and situations. I have taught sheltered, regular Pre-AP and AP. In addition, I serve as the Social Studies Department Chair. I write curriculum, build after-school tutoring programs, and design effective professional development for my teachers.

Currently, I am only offering online tutoring through Skype or other similar virtual sites. My teaching style is similar to a counseling approach in which I will assess the learners needs, strengths and weaknesses and utilize a teaching method that best meets those needs. I am a licensed social worker with over 9 years of experience in healthcare. I am a life long learner and have completed several college degrees with a high GPA.
