I have accumulated about 3 years of diverse teaching experiences. I recently spent 6 months as an interpretive Park Ranger at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. While in college, I worked at a community center tutoring elementary school children in math and reading after school. As an Environment Education Peace Corps volunteer for 2 years in Tanzania, I taught a wide range of subjects including English, Biology, nutrition, and HIV/AIDS education.
Teaching Style
I believe that learning is a life-long process unique to every individual. I seek whenever possible to encourage a learner's connection or reconnection to the joy of learning, as well as their understanding of their central role to drive the process of their own learning. I am patient and sensitive to individual differences and needs. Everything I do as an educator is founded on respect for the uniqueness and inherent value of every student.
