Experience Summary
I have been a substitute teacher for the last 7 years at Groesbeck ISD working mainly with the high school area, and some at the middle school. I also teach an adult student at a local plant working on his GED. I am the primary instructor there. I write for several online freelance article sites and am paid to do that as well. I have passed my EC-12 Special Education test and also my Generalist 4-8 and am considered Highly Qualified in those 2 areas. I have to apply for my probationary certificate and lack the student internship area to complete my certification. I would do that upon getting a full-time teaching position. I have also taught an ESL class at the local library.
Teaching Style
I love to teach and enjoy teaching English as well. I am very good at grammar and all areas of the English language. In my work as a writer, I make extensive use of this. I try to be very patient, and I have worked a great deal with special needs students. I have also worked with ESL and GED students in addition to high school and middle school students, but I have experience with all ages. I enjoy helping someone learn and advancing to the next level. I believe in taking things slow and then gradually working our way up to the next level of learning. I try to really make a difference in my students' lives and help them to grow.
