I'll Teach your Student to Teach Him or Herself

I hate lecturing! I do! This is why my tutoring style is very interactive. I don't like talking AT a person, I prefer to have a conversation. My goal as a tutor is to make subjects interesting, and also to make sure they stick- so you can do well on exams. I also teach study skills in every session, so ideally you won't have to rely on me forever. I try to give students tools that they can use to teach them how to teach themselves- something they'll have to do if they're considering college.

Teaching can be a most wonderful adventure. I believe every child can learn. At times students or overwhelming with new concepts, and they need to be encouraged, and praise until they can accomplish the task at hand. I enjoy seeing the appearence of awareness on a childs face, when they have accomplished a goal, or solved a problem they had difficulty solving. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a passion for "trainng" in my current profession and I have realized that there are many different styles of teaching. I am currently working towards my BA in Humanities at San Jose State University. After I complete my BA I will enroll in a program to get my teaching credential in language arts. I have written countless paper during my college career and consider writing to be my strongest subject. I am also strong in English, History, the arts and literature.
