Mr. Frederick Vaughan has a very extensive and diversified musical background as a woodwind instrumentalist. He has performed professionally in 25 countries touring with several bands and ensembles such as rock bands, jazz bands, jazz combos, New Orleans style brass bands, military bands, polka bands, chamber groups, and orchestras. He as played for numerous dignitaries including, 3 United States presidents, ambassadors, foreign presidents, and congressmen. During his time with United States Navy Band Southeast he was featured as a soloist numerous times on clarinet, saxophone, and flute in a variety of classical, rock, and jazz groups. He served as principal clarinetist in the ceremonial band and wind ensemble. As a student at Alabama State University I excelled in my studies. My years attending I did not graduate but I was placed on the Dean's List for 3 years. In addition, I was vice president of BioMedical Club an elite and very highly talked club in the Biology department. I have learned and studied a variety of sciences. I have excelled in wet/dry laboratories and have written research papers and laboratory reports. My last year, I began tutoring Biology and Chemistry to freshmen.
My future plans are to become a Health Care or a Biology teacher in the summer of 2010. Repetition is good for learning; therefore, the use of various teaching methods are employed in order to maximize the information retained and learned by the individual student.
