Mr. Frederick Vaughan has a very extensive and diversified musical background as a woodwind instrumentalist. He has performed professionally in 25 countries touring with several bands and ensembles such as rock bands, jazz bands, jazz combos, New Orleans style brass bands, military bands, polka bands, chamber groups, and orchestras. He as played for numerous dignitaries including, 3 United States presidents, ambassadors, foreign presidents, and congressmen. During his time with United States Navy Band Southeast he was featured as a soloist numerous times on clarinet, saxophone, and flute in a variety of classical, rock, and jazz groups. As a student at Alabama State University I excelled in my studies. My years attending I did not graduate but I was placed on the Dean's List for 3 years. In addition, I was vice president of BioMedical Club an elite and very highly talked club in the Biology department. I have learned and studied a variety of sciences. I have excelled in wet/dry laboratories and have written research papers and laboratory reports. My last year, I began tutoring Biology and Chemistry to freshmen.

I like to teach using everyday life experiences and things that are relative to the tutee. One can read MacBeth and other writers from the past and still be motivated to learn. I don't believe in memorization because that is not learning. I want the child to carry his newly learned knowledge well into his future and always have it available in the back of his mind. It should not be forgotten but built upon. It's like building a brick wall, one brick at a time. It does take time but when that final brick is put in place, what a masterpiece!
