I've been teaching for about 7 years in high school, both in the public and private sector. I taught for 5 years at Vashon High School and 1 year at Incarnate Word Academy. Subjects were Biology related in both settings. While teaching there I recieved my certification as well as a Master's degree in Education from UMSL. Before being downsized at IWA, I received my Master's in Biology from Washington University. This past spring semester I taught both major and non-major Biology, a full time overload schedule at East Central College in Rolla, MO. I love teaching students, especially when I get the chance to engage them one-on-one. I find that teaching in a public school, I do not get to do this nearly often enough, which disappoints me, for I feel that many students do not really connect with the learning process until they have individual, personal attention.
