I am currently taking the English as a Secondary Language course at Benedict College so, I can be certified in teaching English across the world. In the summer of 2013 I worked at Lanier Technical College/ University of North Georgia as a ESOL Assistant Instructor. I spent my summer translating English to Spanish natives who wanted to obtain their citizenship. That's when I made my decision to go to school for that field. I have been fluent in Spanish since I was a young child. I indulge in English because its a resource that I have that so many world would die for. I strongly support the belief that all children are capable of learning if given sufficient opportunity. As a classroom teacher often facing as many as 37 students at one time, it was difficult to provide the appropriate learning environment for many of these children's needs. Through small group tutoring, however, the right learning environment can be created if the tutor fosters a positive relationship with the student. Developing such a relationship requires considerable patience and consistency on the part of the tutor. Creating such an atmosphere allows the struggling student to expect a reliable mentor to assist her with her studies, while best permitting me to work with the student according to his or her needs.

There have been numerous studies showing that different types of learning exist, and it is my belief that each individual student needs to be taught through adaptive teaching methodologies.
