I am a TUTOR, ready to teach when you are WILLING to learn.

My teaching style is very open. I want to talk and refer to text often. When it comes to just learning English period I am very cultural and I take advantage of the auxiliary sense and make you put it to good use. It can be a tad rough trying to explain the context of English without the content. The content are the random people having everyday conversation. Of, course you need to know the logistics and grammar but, I am a firm believer that you can't possibly know where a comma goes if you don't know what your saying or how. When it comes to textual work such as; Grammar, Language Arts, Spelling, Creative Writing, Theater, and Literature I first go to the text because its the base. We always need a base to drift back to. I began tutoring as a volunteer with the America Reads program in high school. I continued volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club during college. After an opportunity to assist a professor in administering a freshman course, I applied to teach high school in Pasco County. I taught world history and psychology for one year before returning to school for my Master of Arts degree in History. I continued tutoring on the side, but spent most of my time assisting professors in the Department of History at Winthrop University as a Graduate Assistant where I edited exams and papers for undergraduate students. During the last year of my program, I worked with an SES program in South Carolina, tutoring both reading and math.
