I have volunteered at Crosswell Elementary school in 205, and in 2008. I worked with first, second and third grade children. I helped with reading, language arts, spelling, and test preparation. As a classroom teacher often facing as many as 37 students at one time, it was difficult to provide the appropriate learning environment for many of these children's needs. Through small group tutoring, however, the right learning environment can be created if the tutor fosters a positive relationship with the student.
