As a scientific researcher and future graduate student, I believe that science (Chemistry and Biology) are a pertinent are of study for students who plan to be premed, involved in healthcare, or desire to conduct innovative research. I have earned my bachelors degree in Biology, and have earned a minor in Chemistry. These studies have allowed me to take courses and gain experience in both the lecture and laboratory facets of my academic career, which has allowed me to become a very competent laboratory researcher and technician. As a student in a Multiple Subject teaching credential program, I have developed my passion for teaching into the skills necessary for encouraging student success. As a part of my program, I spent 300 hours in a K/1st grade combination class. In the classroom, I had many responsibilities including: assisting the students with their work; teaching language arts, social science, science and math lessons; and working with small groups of students to improve reading skills. This year I also worked in an after-school program where I lead the kindergarten class where my duties included teaching conventional lessons in math, science, language arts, and science as well as incorporating song, games, and hands-on activities into lessons.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have successfully acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Painting from Central Washington University. Last May in Seattle, I submitted and displayed my work at an art show. I am presently working on my next collection to show in the near future. Since beginning my life in Fine Arts, I have been Sharing my knowledge and learning from my friends and family, like the Impressionists who talked over coffee in Montmartre. My experience with teaching maybe informal, but it is real. Just recently, I have taken and passed the CBEST test and I am now working my way towards becoming a substitute teacher.
