The first student I taught was in October 2012 while I was still employed by the University of Pittsburgh, School of Nursing- Center for Research & Evaluation, developing web and desktop applications to collect, manage, and transform research data, and working on obtaining my Master's degree. Having graded assignments, I can quickly grasp multiple ways to approach a problem and give commentary where necessary. If they're really stumped, then I try to teach them first from a conventional standpoint, then switch to a more example-based explanation.
