Experience Summary
During the last four years, I have spent a large amount of time working with, and around middle school and High school students. I have spent time in the classroom, worked with small groups, and spent one summer working with multiple summer camps up and down the coast. I love working with students, especially individually or in smaller groups. I also have expierence as a help desk specialist, which allows me to work with and around computers. I can help students understand how to use the tools they already have to help with their classroom activities and assignments, such as calculators, and computers.
Teaching Style
My teaching style focuses on teaching students how to find the big picture. If they understand what it is they are trying to do, then showing them how to get there becomes easier. Any student can learn math, and have the capability to understand numbers, this just comes harder for some and easier for others. In my past I have benefited greatly from some math teachers, and fallen behind in classes where I was not getting what the teacher was talking about. Tutors can be a great help in pushing students over a difficult concept or idea. Then, when the student is back on track, they can take their education in their own hands again.
